Welcome to the Ladies Ancient Order of Hibernians, District of Columbia

We are an Irish Catholic Fraternal Organization made up of Catholic Women of Irish Decent. We celebrate our Irish Heritage and History as well as our Catholic faith. We are part of a larger National Organization of the Ladies Ancient Order of Hibernians (LAOH)

We have events in the District of Columbia as well as in Montgomery and Prince Georges Counties in Maryland.

Masses: *February at Basilica of National Shrine in the St. Brigid Chapel in the Crypt Church to honor our patron Saint. *September at Cathedral of St. Matthew to honor the Nuns of the Battlefield Monument that the Ladies Ancient Order of Hibernians (LAOH) erected in 1924 to honor the Nuns who nursed the wounded during the Civil War on both sides of the conflict. Most of who were Irish. *November at Franciscan Monastery to honor our deceased Members.

Meetings: We meet in Silver Spring Maryland on the 3rd Sunday of most months.

Events: St. Patrick’s Day Parade at RIO Mall in Gathersburg Maryland in March. A Tea in April And other events at local restaurants or Irish Pubs.
